Novel technique for minimum-order macromodel synthesis of high-speed interconnect subnetworks
A new algorithm is presented to efficiently combine the process of model-reduction of high-speed interconnect subnetworks with the nonlinear simulation. The proposed algorithm guarantees the number of states required during the macromodel synthesis from reduced-order frequency-domain matrix-transfer functions to be minimum. This greatly speeds up the nonlinear simulation as the number of algebraic differential equations involved is reduced. An important advantage of the new technique is that it can be used in conjunction with any of the existing model-reduction techniques.
