Versatile, high dynamic range receiver front end for digital radio broadcast and M-SAT reception
This paper describes the design of a receiver front end capable of receiving digital radio broadcast for future mixed satellite/terrestrial service, or signals from M-SAT. The front end provides for two inputs to allow for reception handoff between a high gain, circular polarized satellite antenna and a low gain, vertically polarized terrestrial antenna. Further it provides two outputs, one at 208.75 MHz with no AGC compensation, the second at 36 MHz with 75 dB AGC compensation. The receiver also provides robustness to adjacent channel interference of +75 dBc for the satellite reception.
