The performance of a multicast switching system with a cyclic priority input access scheme is evaluated by means of an analytic model which may treat two distinct multicast switches in a unified way. The performance measure is the packet delay at the input buffer of the system. The analysis is subsequently performed using matrix-geometric techniques and the numerical results are compared with simulations.
