Mid-frequency structural dynamics with parameter uncertainty
The system parameter uncertainties are investigated using the stochastic finite element method (SFEM) for mid-frequency range vibration. The feasibility and development of a general purpose probabilistic framework with its application to large-scale built-up systems are demonstrated. The approach overcomes the need to determine the joint statistics of natural frequencies and made shapes by avoiding the modal superposition approach.
