Computational time improvements of pollutant release characterization using pre-computed advection-diffusion adjoint releases
Pre-computation of the scalar transport adjoint has the potential to reduce run-times in the long term. Convergence criteria, however, must be set with care as results can eventually diverge if the optimization algorithm is allowed to attempt to optimize based on non-physical criteria.
